Abstract: The environment serves as the foundation for human development. Every nation has strongly supported the vital importance of the environment by making rules and regulations related to the environment. Local legislation and international conventions demonstrate concern for the environment on a national and international level, respectively. The modern era’s popular subject is environmental protection. A safe and healthy environment is fundamental human rights as covered under Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), the United Nations Charter, and various other international charters. Important environmental topics like pollution, global warming, the ozone layer, nuclear wars, rising levels of CFCs, etc. are discussed at conferences and talks held at the international, national and regional level. As a result, global environmental norms are brought to the global society and municipal laws are required to adhere to these international standards. The significance of introducing international norms and how these norms have influenced domestic legislation will be analyzed in the paper. The available material, including books, articles, news, laws, reports, and papers, will be used to study this process. This all will be studied in the context of Indian Laws. The Environment Protection Act, Air Pollution Act, National Green Tribunal, etc. are the result inspired by international norms. The paper’s authors tried to determine how significant international treaties have influenced Indian environmental laws.
