Abstract: The first report from the long-term periodic assessment of artificial intelligence (Al) and its social implications conducted by Stanford University's "One Hundred Year Study on Artificial Intelligence" project was made available in September 2016. The team, lead by Peter Stone of the University of Texas in Austin, consisted of 17 writers who had a solid experience in Al research. Eight typical urban settings are examined in the "Artificial Intelligence and Life in 2030" report, including transportation, healthcare, education, public safety and security, low-resource communities, employment and workplace, entertainment, and home and service robots. These areas are expected to be impacted by Al in the coming years. It attempts to give the general people an accurate picture of the current state of science and technology.
