Abstract: One of the unique features of the Crime Detect! system is its sophisticated crime categorization system, implemented using a binary tree. The hierarchical structure begins with a general CRIME category, which then branches into PHYSICAL and NON-PHYSICAL subcategories. Further divisions into Violent/Non-violent and Drug/Cybercrime create a comprehensive taxonomy. This binary tree structure enhances the efficiency of crime classification and retrieval, providing a logical and user-friendly framework. The user interaction process in the Victim module is designed for simplicity and effectiveness. Users are prompted to choose a specific category of crime from the binary tree. If the selected crime is part of the system's taxonomy, the system proceeds to collect essentialinformation. Personal details, including the victim's name, contact information, and address, are gathered to ensure a responsive follow-up. Additionally, the system prompts users to provide any known details about the perpetrator, such as name, complexion, height, special marks, and the location of the crime.
