Abstract

This report details the creation of a terminal-based e-commerce application in C++, addressing contemporary business challenges. The project focuses on optimizing the shopping experience for both consumers and sellers by incorporating essential functionalities such as user interaction, item selection, cart management, item filtering, and a checkout process with bill generation. Additionally, an Admin mode is integrated to facilitate inventory management. File handling is introduced to address challenges related to data persistence, allowing real-time updates to a text file to ensure the continuous and accurate representation of the inventory. The development approach ensures code modularity, ease of debugging, and maintenance. In conclusion, the terminal-based e-commerce application adopts a systematic approach, incorporating OOP principles and strategic coding decisions to enhance functionality and overcome challenges associated with runtime data persistence. The commitment to a seamless user experience and data integrity is evident in the implementation of key features and file handling mechanisms.
