Abstract: In this paper, a wide-band micro-strip patch antenna is designed for Ka-band applications. A50 \Omega microstrip feed line is used for exciting the antenna. By using partial ground below the substrate large bandwidth from 26.1-40.0GHz is achieved. This proposed antenna is simulated using Ansys HFSS 19.1 simulation tool. The proposed antenna can provide broadband characteristics and peak gain radiation performance for Ka-band applications. The dielectric substrate Rogers RO4003 with permittivity 3.55 and loss tangent of 0.0027 is used to design this antenna with dimensions 13 x 13 x 1.52 mm3. The simulated antenna has a peak gain of 7.0 dBi over the operating frequency band. © 2020 IEEE.
