Abstract: In the relationship between self-reliance and leadership evaluations, we hypothesise a female advantage. Women today are increasingly financially self-sufficient, depending on paid work to secure their place in the income hierarchy. Female leaders who are self-reliant are considered more effective than their male counterparts who are self-reliant. Conversely, there may be a benefit for male leaders or no gender bias for dominant leaders or positive leaders who do not exhibit a specific agentic trait. In this paper tried to explored gender equality and self-reliance in India over the journey of 75 years since independence.
