Abstract: The consumer in the global era is the vital economic component around whom the global economy is evolving. Where on one side the consumer is standing, and on other side, the business enterprises are standing on the equal footing to balance the economic structure. The global economy is evolving in many dimensions. So, with this dynamic evolution, the problems and crises with business and trade have cropped drastically. The world needs a safe and better economic structure. In this regard, the authors have taken the area of Dispute Redressal Mechanisms for Conflict between Consumers and Businesses in the context of India for research. There are plethora of laws available in the global world for the protection of the consumer. This paper is focusing on the laws of India only. The mechanism of consumer grievances redressal is taken as the broad topic to study. It’s a global need to take care of the needs and rights of the consumers and provide an effective dispute redressal mechanism. This mechanism should be designed to resolve conflicts between consumers and businesses in the easiest and fastest manner. This mechanism should understand the cost of litigation, time of litigant, emotional and physical hardships. There are various methods of dispute redressal mechanisms to address conflicts between consumers and businesses, for example ADR, NCH, Consumer Protection Act. The Consumer dispute resolution mechanisms mainly emphasizes industry-specific approaches and provides legal framework to solve the disputes between consumers and business.
