Abstract: In the year 2018, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) created by the UN published a report titled as “Global Warming of 1.5°C”. This report established very high and ambitious targets of achieving net zero emissions by 2050 and by globally cutting back the net anthropogenic CO2 emissions by 45%. To meet these ambitious targets, the report also projected the requirement of funds to achieve the same. A steady investment of USD 2.4 trillion is needed for every year from 2035 in the clean energy domain and for energy investments it requires an investment fund of somewhere around USD 1.6 – USD 3.8 trillion in supplyside investments from 2050.
