Abstract: India’s aspiration to transition into a developed nation involves setting ambitious goals during the Amrit Kaal period to elevate the country to a level akin to developed nations such as the UK and the USA. Central to this endeavor is the pivotal role of food in attaining these objectives within the specified timeframe, recognizing the significance of a healthy population in realizing the lofty ambition of achieving developed status by the conclusion of the fiscal year 2047 via “Sabka Sath Sabka Vikas”. Consequently, this study delves into the contrast between current circumstances and aspirations by emphasizing food security and sovereignty as critical focal points amidst ongoing discussions in India’s resurgence. The exploration aims to shed light on how addressing food-related challenges can bridge the gap between India's present reality and its vision for development, underscoring the importance of food in the country's journey towards achieving its developmental aspirations.
