Abstract: This research paper provides an account of the evolution of land regulations in India, which pertains to immovable properties. All of this started with the 1935 Government of India Act and culminated with the Articles 31A–31C Constitutional Amendments. The paper uncovers how these amendments arose, analysing their rationales and their effectiveness in practice. Commencing with a review of the legislation in 1935, paper traces the progression of these transformations over time. Then investigate the necessity for reforms in the ownership and distribution of land, as well as the legal measures that attempted to tackle these concerns. Additionally, the paper examines the practical obstacles encountered by individuals engaged in these transformations, ranging from policymakers to ordinary citizens. The discussion then turns to the effects of the Constitutional Amendments, specifically Article 31A, 31B, and 31C. We investigate the ways in which land ownership, agriculture, and the way people lived and worked were all affected by these changes. The purpose of this paper is to simplify the complex world of land laws in India by illustrating their development and the effect they had on the populace through the use of this story.
