Abstract: Science, ethics and law present the most complex situation together. Issues involving the three are bound to pose questions unanswered. The present paper mainly concerns itself with two prime issues in the context of human cloning. The researcher has analyzed the pros and cons of patenting human clones in analyzing the beneficial aspects of the same for mankind. Furthermore, the present paper also deals with an important question as in the patent utility aspects of intellectual property with regards to human cloning. An attempt has been made to understand the historical itinerary of human cloning. The various issues surrounding cloning have been considered examined and analyzed in detail. The long standing debate between science and ethics has proved conducive to understanding the legal contentions more punctiliously than ever before, as it bore an understanding of the legal consequences that are to come out of it
