Abstract: The CCI has been tasked with the responsibility of looking at mergers in accordance with the pertinent sections of the Competition Act and the Combination Regulations.1 All transactions that satisfy the relevant jurisdictional thresholds and are not excluded in any other way are required to be pre-notified to the Competition Commission of India (CCI) in accordance with the mandatory and suspensory merger control framework that is in place in India. Pre-notification to the CCI is required under the jurisdictional thresholds set forth in the Competition Act if one of the two conditions above is met.
