dc.description.abstractThe present article explores the why people enjoy listening to sad music. It reviews various studies and proposes that the pleasure comes from a combination of factors, including the absence of the negative consequences usually associated with sadness, the beauty and complexity of the music, and the ability to connect with one’s own emotions. The article also suggests that individual differences in personality and mood can influence how much people enjoy sad music.-
