Abstract: Employment in the public sector guarantees that the general public has the ability to engage in state affairs. In principle, public employment may be considered as a new sort of property or economic wealth. However, in order to share benefits or powers, it needs equitable and effective involvement. Representation of several groups and individuals is necessary for efficient administration. To make democracy and national unity a reality, all sectors of society must participate equally and effectively in the activities and administration of the country. Prior to independence, the nation's public sector was dominated by powerful and privileged groups of individuals, making the philosophy of equal opportunity in public employment very essential to Indian 1 residents. This principle is established in clause 1 of Article 16 of the Indian Constitution, which declares that all citizens would have equal opportunity in employment and appointment to any governmental office. It also permits the state to reserve appointments for the most disadvantaged members of society, so that the "right to equality" is no longer a utopian idea. The vulnerable and disadvantaged groups, such as women and transgender, continue to be underrepresented in the public sector and confront several obstacles in the workplace. This research seeks to investigate the many forms of gender prejudice and discrimination against women and transgender in the workplace. In addition, it examines the requirements of Articles 14 and 16 pertaining to equality of opportunity in public employment
