Title: Quantitative Soil Analysis using Vis-NIR Spectra

Abstract: Soil is one of the key components required for a healthy growth of a plant. Without the proper nourishment of the soil, plant growth can be inconsistent and undernourished. This paper aims at various methods that can be used to measure the contents of soil using spectroscopy. The idea behind the approach of these methods is that they are dry methods, non-destructive, and can be portable and cost-effective. Based on the current scenario, availability of soil testing labs in India is not appropriate to the number of farmers. Numerous districts don't have a soil testing lab and farmers must travel to other districts, thus making this whole process more costly and less mobile. Without the proper information of the quantity of the contents present in the soil, farmers cannot use the adequate pesticide to replenish those contents. Thus, this paper aims on the methods that can make this whole process more feasible to the farmers. © 2022 IEEE.
