Abstract: The edited book titled, “Gender Equality for a Sustainable Future: Perspectives from India and Nigeria” is a joint initiative under the collaboration of the School of Law, Bennett University, India and Ibadan University, Nigeria. The edited book comprises of scholarly articles dealing with several issues pertaining to Gender Equality through a comparative law perspective from both the jurisdictions of India and Nigeria. Both the countries have dealt with their gender issues from their own historical experiences and socio-cultural dynamics. In order to move towards a sustainable future, it is important that gender equality is included as one of the important priorities in the policy making of any country. Law and gender have therefore, interacted on several occasions and lead to several regulatory developments that have been highlighted in this book. This book will act as an important resource for anyone who wishes to understand the scope of gender issues encountering the two countries and provide a comprehensive outlook towards a sustainable future.
