Abstract

Periodic analysis of legal regimes helps us to evaluate the relevancy of that law from the perspective of current dynamics and requirements of the society. This book deals with various issues related to ocean and ocean regulation: including legal perspective on climate change and its impact on Indian environment, legal aspects of use of indigenous knowledge and marine resource management in high seas, law of sea and Islamic traditions, safety at sea and state responsibility, evaluation of BBNJ related to wildlife trade, challenges in demarcating continental shelf, challenges in prosecuting maritime pirates, and deep sea mining and its impact on oceanic environment.
