The Investor-State Dispute Settlement System: Reform, Replace or Status Quoen_US
The modalities through which goods are transported around the world today are undergoing rapid changes. From the earlier unimodal transportation to the present multimodal, international transportation of goods is increasingly carried out on a "door to door" basis, involving more than one mode. The reason for such change is due to the growth of containerization along with related technological advancements. Thus, by using different modalities, transportation of goods is facilitated under one contract. The simplification of the entire process of using different modes of transport covered by one document has given impetus to the multimodal aspect of transport under the various international Conventions.en_US
